Obituary

Mrs. Beatrice Huff DeHaven of Dugspur, VA died February 1, 2011 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Home. She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 9, 1914, the daughter of Lawrence and Ellen Gardner Huff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. DeHaven, brothers Tecumseh (Bob), Olen, and Charlie; sisters Alta Nester, Juanita Huff, Oleta Goad, Vera Gunther; daughter Linda DeHaven Black; granddaughter Susan Black; and son-in-law Charles Black. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her son, James DeHaven and wife Carol of Coalwood, WV; grandchildren Laura DeHaven Booth and husband Darrell of Huntington, WV, Scott DeHaven and wife Tiffany of Iaeger, WV, Todd Black and wife Julie of Gerrardstown, WV; and great grandchildren Zackary, Taylor and Bailey DeHaven, Nathan and Kathryn Booth, and C.G. Black.

Bea was a resident of Coalwood, WV for many years where she and Charlie made their home and raised their family. She was Manager of the Coalwood Club House before moving back to the family home at Burks Fork-Dugspur, VA. Granny Bea was loved by all who knew her and you never left her home hungry!

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
