Barry Ray Southard, 65, of Dugspur, VA passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Thomas Southard, Sr.; son, C.W. Southard.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie Nester Southard of the home; mother, Dorothy Lee Duggins Southard; sons, Christopher Southard of VA, Jim Brown of Mt. Airy, NC, Troy Brown of Dugspur, Sam Dycus of Mt. Airy, and Matt Dycus of Mt. Airy; two sisters, Brenda S. Smith, and Donna S. Friddle; two brothers, Martin Thomas Southard, Jr. and Ronnie F. Southard; eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Donna S. Friddle officiating. Burial will follow in the Aaron Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is Serving the Southard family.
