Barry Neal Newman, 63 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his home. Mr. Newman was born in Carroll County to the late Lennie Jordan & Margaret Beatrice King Newman. He is survived by his wife Cathy J. Newman of the home; children & spouses Debbie Malone, Dwayne & Kathy Newman, Dana Marie & Lane Elkins all of Maryland, Kenny & Emily Newman of Hillsville, Michael Jefferson and boyfriend Michael Robinson of Woodlawn, and Barry Joe & Kimberly Frye of Saltville; special son Brian Allen of North Carolina; sisters Elouise Viars of Maryland, Betty Stamper of Hillsville, and Bobbie Fender of Hillsville; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jake Newman of Grayson County, Roger & Judy Newman of Hillsville and Dylis & Faye Newman of Hillsville; sisters Unifaye Newman of Hillsville; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
