Barbara Ellen Murphy, 87 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Murphy was born in Wythe County to the late Marshall and India Fields Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Leonard Murphy.

Survivors include her sons and spouses, Paul Gravley and Vivian, Alan Gravley and Rhonda, Dallas Gravley, and Gary Gravley and Penny; brother, Duane Vaughan; sister, Carol Ann Murphy; grandchildren, Scarlett Alderman, Alana Swiger, Asa Gravley, Brennan Gravley, Justin Schaeffer, Tyler Gravley, and Travis Gravley; and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ray Bolen and Rev. Wayne Pickett officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
