Barbara Valerie Marshall, 80, of Galax, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Marshall was born in Mississippi to the late John and Emma Harett King Brewer. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Marshall and daughter, Cynthia Elder. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David Wayne and Karen Marshall of Galax; sister, Carmella Myers and brother, John Brewer both of Charleston, SC; and granddaughter and spouse, Stephanie A. and Matthew Kirby. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
