Barbara Jean Felts, 69 of Blacksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Felts was born in Mount Airy, NC to the late Tilmon & Bessie Rigney. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Guy Junior Felts. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Ann Powers of Blacksburg, Cathy & Jerry Breedwell of Narrows, VA, and Tracy & Gary Higgins of Galax; sister & brother-in-law Irene & Roger Melton of Winston Salem, NC; seven grandchildren Marvin Powers, Jr., Melissa Felts, Sonya Breedwell, Jeremy Breedwell, Jennifer Felts, Kinsey Tate, and Kirsten Higgins; and nine great grandchildren Hunter Wills, Mason Wills, Jonathan Ash, Austin Lafon, Alexis Lafon, Preston Triplett, Jr., Madalynn Triplett, Nevaeh Marley Powers, and Maddix Powers.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 7:30 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Dewey Felts and Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night beginning at 6:30 PM prior to the funeral service.
