Barbara F. Goad, 85 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Goad was born in Henry County, Virginia to the late Virgil Green and Lessie Curry Ferguson.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Preston Goad; sons, Timmy Goad and Mark Ferguson; brothers, Ronald Ferguson, Gene Ferguson, Melvin Ferguson, Winford Ferguson, and Ausby Ferguson; and a sister, Violet Byrd.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy and Bonnie Goad of Laurel Fork; Ramona Forrester of Hillsville, and Galen and Samantha Goad of Galax; grandchildren, Emily Goad, Elijah Goad, Amy Harrell, Jordan Nunn, Malachi Goad, Macalister Goad, Makray Goad, and Maverik Goad; great-grandson, Eli Goad; great-granddaughter, Ever Goad; and siblings, Glenn Ferguson (Sissy) and Patricia Rakes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Goad officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
