Avis Marie McGrady Coulson, 81 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Coulson was born in Hillsville to the late Ellis & Goldie Webb McGrady. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roby Paul Coulson, brothers Rush and Henry McGrady, and sister Ruth Goad. She is survived by one son Clifton Neal Coulson of Roanoke; sister Mary McGrady of Woodlawn; two grandchildren Jeannie Marie Coulson and Susie Taylor & husband Flint; four great grandchildren Dylan Paul Coulson, Jalyn Alia Coulson, Edin Taylor and Davis Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 230 Charwood Drive, NE Abingdon, VA 24210 or the American Heart Association 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family would like to express thanks to Trinity Mission Nursing Home for their compassion and caring for Mrs. Coulson during her last years.
