Ava Hill Edwards, 78 of Hillsville passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Mildred Combs Hill and a grandson Jody A. Goad. She is survived by her husband Odell Edwards of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Brenda & James A. Smith and Nada & Jerry R. Goad all of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law Harold & Emma Jean Hill of Hillsville; and a granddaughter Julie L. Smith of Richmond, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jody A.
