Arthur Clayton McGrady, 73, of Pulaski, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Mr. McGrady was born in Carroll County to the late George Stephen and Sybil Sumner McGrady. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Marcus McGrady. Arthur attended school in Sylvatus until his senior year, and then graduated from Carroll County High School. He also graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Business. Mr. McGrady was a licensed General Contractor building customer homes in the Nashville, TN area. He later worked for several Ford dealerships as Sales Manager, Finance Manager, and salesman and is a member of Ford's Sales Hall of Fame. Arthur was a member of V.F.W. Post 6000 in Narrows, VA, a Charter member of Am Vets Post 50 in Pulaski, VA and a member of the Pulaski Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Helen Susan McGrady of the home; son, Sean Padraic Clayton McGrady of Blacksburg; two daughters, Sharon McGrady and Shannon McGrady, both of New Jersey; step sons, David Tate, Jr. of Hobart, OK, Daniel Zane Tate of Ft. Worth, TX, and Heath Tate of Norman, OK; one brother, Leslie McGrady of Hillsville; and three sisters, Sybil Gertrude Bond of Galax, Alice Perry of Hillsville, and Etta Mae Walker of Charlotte Court House, VA. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the White Cemetery with Mr. Leslie McGrady officiating.
