Arnie Avis Nester, 94 of Hillsville, Virginia passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Hopie Nester; wife of 65 years, Lorene P. Nester; siblings, Arvin Nester, Ida Eastridge, Betty Easter, Stevie Elton Nester, and Virgil Nester.

Survivors include his siblings, Elmo Nester, Olen G. Nester, Arlie Nester and Prudence; sister-in-law, Linda Nester; brother-in-law/nephew, Donald and Diana Smith; great nephew, Adam Smith and India; several nieces and nephews; very special caregiver, Amanda Collier.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulson Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 1:00 PM until service time.
