Arba Jean Montgomery, 73 of Hillsville, passed into eternal rest with her Lord Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Montgomery was born in Christiansburg, Virginia to the late John Asbury and Virginia Edith Keith Muncy.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Montgomery; siblings, Frank Muncy, Burdeena Taylor, Paul Muncy and Robert Muncy; and brother-in-law, Archie Montgomery.

Arba worked 40 years in textiles and was a member of Carroll County Rescue Squad for 15 years.  She and Roy enjoyed raising small crops and extreme bee-keeping.  Arba was a faithful member of Skyview Baptist Church and traveled to Haiti for missions for five years.  She was an avid quilter at Skyview Baptist Church Quilters.

Survivors include her siblings, Madge Truslow, Ellen Douglas, and Rufus Muncy; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Wendell Horton and Minister Robert Kite officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dry Pond Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM
