Anna Pauline Surratt Horton Marshall, 86, of Dugspur, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Marshall was born in Carroll County to the late Lester and Minnie Mae Stilwell Surratt. In addition to parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Harvey Horton and Foy Marshall; a daughter, Nancy Belle Webb-Hines; two brothers, Howard Surratt and Clinton Surratt; and two sisters, Lucille Surratt and Minnie Spangler. Mrs. Marshall was the loving mother of three children, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Danny Deskins of Dugspur; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Lee and Kathy Horton of Dugspur; sisters, Wilma Gardner of Mt. Airy, NC, Janet Horton of Hillsville, and Betty Lou Atkins of Hillsville; brothers, Elbert Surratt of Hillsville and Carl Surratt of Hillsville; grandchildren Deborah Beamer, Eddie Lane Webb, Holly Choate, and Lorie Snider; great grandchildren, Jasper Beamer, Kristen Colna, Palin Snider, and Paisley Snider; and great-great grandchildren, Jazlyn Colna. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Surratt Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Joey Mabe officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
