Obituary

Amon Otis Harmon, 77 of Woodlawn, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his home. Mr. Harmon was born in Carroll County to the late Ransom and Losie Melton Harmon. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Blanche A. Harmon; great-granddaughter, Anna Frazier; brother, Leroy Harmon; sister, Ethel Hawks; and his first wife, Ila Rae Harmon.

Survivors include his children, Joyce Mabe and husband, Robert of Austinville, Jesse Frazier and wife, Anita of Galax, and Robert Frazier and wife Edna of Woodlawn; brothers, Wayne Harmon and Gene Harmon and wife, Lora all of Woodlawn; sisters, Betty Alley of Woodlawn and Odessa Peters of Max Meadows; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his church family at Woodlawn Church of God where he was a member for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Church of God with Rev. Kenneth Alley and Rev. Theron Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
