Alvin Clinton Dalton, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Maggie Dalton; a daughter Sharon Faye Dalton and a sister Hallie Davis Delp. He is survived by his wife Georgia R. McGrady Dalton of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Patsy & Royce McCraw of Cana and Karen & Martin Slate of Hillsville; son & daughter-in-law Lewis & Barbara Dalton of Dugspur; brothers & sister-in-law Friel Dalton of Hillsville and Everette & Sue Dalton of Galax; sisters & brother-in-law Callie Williams Lowe of Hillsville and Ila Mae & Roy Alderman of Galax; and two grandchildren and spouse Megan Lenora Slate and Zachary Ryan & Ashley Spencer Slate. Other survivors include sisters-in-law Joy Goad of Laurel Fork and Mary McGrady of Bland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. James Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday night at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dalton Hill Christian Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 790 Hillsville, VA 24343.
