Alta Marie Horton, 86, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Joseph Pierce and Pearlie Malecie Horton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Raymond Horton; two brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Jessica Felts.

Survivors include her son, Danny Horton of Ridgeway; daughters and son-in-law, Darlene and Bill Akers, Ann Sutphin, and Jeanette Martin all of Hillsville; brother, Paul Horton of Hillsville; grandchildren and spouses, DeeDee Kreisher, Allison and Porter Evans, Corey Akers, Tyler and April Dycus, and Emily and Daniel Drake; and great granddaughters, Addison Kreisher, Reagan Evans, and Brooks Evans.

The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Henley Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
