Alta Fay Beamer, 75 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Beamer was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late John and Dorthelia Hendrick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Billy Don Beamer; daughter Donna Jean Beamer; granddaughter Emily Page Beamer; sister Evelyn Worrell; and brothers Morris Hendrick, Edwin Hendrick, Burchal Hendrick and Benton Hendrick. She is survived by her sons John Beamer and wife Malinda of Hillsville and Joe Beamer and wife Cindy of Winston Salem; sister June Cassell of Fancy Gap; brothers Joe Hendrick of Winston Salem and Ersal Hendrick of Pulaski; grandchildren Cody Beamer, Jacob Beamer, Chelsea Beamer, Michael Beamer, Elizabeth Isley Vogler, and Cliff Kohut; and great grandchildren Amara Mullins, Miley Vogler, and Madison Bull.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
