Almeda Lois Branscome, 85 of Dugspur, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Branscome was born in Carroll County to the late Willie Emmett and Clara Moles Branscome. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Orville Branscome and siblings Bryan Branscome, Roger Branscome, Waitman Branscome, Alene Wilson, and Pauleda Yeatts. She is survived by her children Louise Thomas of Laurel Fork, Patty Spangler of Bassett, VA and Gary Branscome & wife Susan of Dugspur; brothers Willie C. Branscome of Axton, VA, Roby Branscome of Newark, DE, and Clinton Branscome of Richmond; sisters Estelle Howell of Richmond, Dot Atkins of Collinsville, and Betty Branscome of Dugspur; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Harold Fenstermaker and Rev. S.G. Bolt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
