Alma Estelle Viars Riggins, 90 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Riggins was born on June 23, 1926 in McDowell, WV to Mythle M. and Sparrell J. Viars. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Burton Jackson Riggins; five brothers; one sister; one grandson; one infant son; one infant great grandson; and one son-in-law.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Roger Lee Riggins and Shelia Haywood of Edge Water, FL, Johnny Ray Riggins and friend of the family, Julie Hickok of Hillsville, Larry Eugene Riggins of Hillsville, and Barbara Kidd and Ronald Lawson of Barren Springs; sister, Sue Deveney of Washington; brother, Odell Viars of Pulaski; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Riverview Church of God with Pastor Eddie Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Riggins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
