Allene H. Shockley, 81 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 27,2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Shockley was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Isaac Brooks and Laura Elizabeth Roseberry Horton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Grey Shockley and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Michael and Carolyn Shockley of Tobaccoville, NC, Steven and Connie Shockley of Gate City, Timothy and Sandra Shockley of Hillsville, and Carolyn "Sam" and Gary Scott of Salem; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Opalene and Chester Combs of Mount Airy, NC; sisters-in-law, Pauline Horton of Woodlawn, Hazel Shockley of Salem, and Lovelene Horton of Hillsville; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
