Allen E. Gardner, 89 of Strasburg, VA passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care in Winchester, VA. Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife Thelma McGrady Gardner; son John Allen Gardner of Lebanon Church; daughter Rebecca Gardner Lucas & husband, Robert Lee Lucas, Jr. of Strasburg; sisters Willa Dean Terry of Hillsville and Burlene Reynolds of Roanoke; grandsons Marshall Gardner & wife Kristen of Strasburg, Brian E. Gardner and Jeremiah A. Lucas; and four great grandchildren Megan Gardner, Jesse Gardner, Allen Gardner and Dagan Riffey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 10:00 AM with Dr. Ken Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
