Alicia Maria Joaquin, infant daughter of Manuel & Jacgueline Joaquin of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Brenners Childrens Hospital in Winston. In addition to her parents Alicia is survived by a sister Elena Joaquin of Meadows of Dan; maternal grandparents Randy & Paula Turman of Laurel Fork; maternal great grandparents Marcie Persson of Hillsville; Frank Leftack of Laurel Fork and Lockie Turman of Laurel Fork; paternal grandparents Agustin Gomez Joaquin and Elene Maria Gomez Joaquin; and paternal great grandparents Dionicio Munos Joaquin and Juana Gomez Munos.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
