Alice Mae Kahl, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Kahl was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Randolph and Dessie Vaughan Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Widner; brother, Jessie Thomas; and sisters, Mary Ruth Edwards, Virginia Jennings, and Pearl Spraker.

Survivors include her children, Roger Widner (Becky), Candy Moore (Jimmy), and Jonathan Kahl; sister, Dorothy Edwards; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rick Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Fries. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
