Alice G. Johnson, formerly of Boscawen, NH died peacefully at her home in Hillsville, VA on July 25, 2021.  Alice graduated from Keene State College in 1943 and married Robert L Johnson on June 26, 1943.  After WWII Bob and Alice moved to Concord, and later lived in Boscawen for forty-seven years.  Beginning in 1965, Alice taught second grade at Main Street School in Boscawen and at Dame School in Concord until she retired in 1985.  The Johnson family spent many summer vacations at Highland Lake in Andover, NH. Bob and Alice also had a winter home in Naples, Florida and traveled extensively in their RV.

Alice is survived by 4 children, Robert L. Johnson Jr. (Lillian), Susan J. Fansmith (John), Sharon J. Confessore (Gary) and Jeffrey T. Johnson (Sharon), 5 grandchildren, Alicia Fansmith and Jonathan Fansmith (Danielle), Aby Bethem (Blake), Katie Nagle (Tim), and Adam Johnson, and seven great-grandchildren, Lila and Jane Gosselin Fansmith, Jake, Parker and Finn Bethem and William and Helen Nagle.  She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, and by her son Eric S. Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 31 2021, at St. Joseph Church in Woodlawn VA.   Burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady chapel on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Carroll County Public Library, PO Box 1629, Hillsville VA 24343.
