Alene Bowman, 93 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 03, 2010 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Eden, NC. Mrs. Bowman was born in Carroll County to the late Omer Lee & Martha Etta Cruise Largen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Reford Bowman; and daughter Lois Bowman Hughes. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Linda & Wayland Pulliam of Ridgeway, VA; brothers James Largen of Sandston, VA; Morrison Largen of Hillsville; and Charlie Largen of Hillsville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Hillsville Christian Church with Dr. John Dunstan officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, August 6, 2010 one hour prior to the funeral service.
