Albert Elgin Dixon 78 of Hillsville passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt E. and Louetta Janey Dixon; sons, Michael Allen Arnold and Terry Leroy Arnold, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 40 plus years Pat Arnold Dixon; son, Jeff Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Woody Mize; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Arnold; grandchildren, Justin Cooley and wife Genevieve, Colby Cooley, and Shyann Arnold; great grandson, Jace Cooley; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Herman Hale.

Elgin was originally from Franklin County, Virginia and graduated from Bassett High School and has lived in Hillsville, Virginia for the past 28 years. Elgin worked for Valspar for 21 years and Lily Company for 11 years. He was a member of the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church and prior member, deacon and board member of Gospel Chapel in Galax, Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett and Pastor Ron Fredricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery in Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Jeff Pickett, Pastor Ron Fredricks and to the doctors, nurses, Mountain Valley Hospice, Woltz Hospice Home, family, friends and neighbors for any acts of kindness shown during this time.
