Biography
Laura Myers Branscome, 90, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Branscome was born in Carroll County to the late Elder Benjamin H. Myers and Flora White Myers Stilwell. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Melvin Branscome; daughter-in-law Sharon Branscome; brothers Leonard Myers and Fred Myers; and sisters Gladys Shepherd, Lola Luther, and Pearl Myers. She is survived by her son Garry Branscome of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law John and Jenny Stilwell of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dustin Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
